Financial help for students

Eligible Scottish domiciled students studying full-time in Scotland are not required to pay tuition fees if studying for a first degree or equivalent.  Students may also be eligible to apply for an income assessed bursay and student loan to help with living costs from the Student Awards Agency for Scotland (SAAS).   

Eligible Scottish domiciled students wishing to study outwith Scotland, at an institution elsewhere in the UK, are entitled to a non-income-assessed loan of up to £9,000 a year towards the cost of their tuition fees and may also be eligible to apply for an income assessed bursay and student loan to help with living costs from the Student Awards Agency for Scotland (SAAS).
