Resource Efficient Circular Economy
The Resource Efficient Circular Economy Strategic Intervention (SI) has been allocated £30.7m from the European Regional Development Fund 2014-2020 programme to increase the resource efficiency of Scottish SMEs, further develop and strengthen Scotland's circular economy and support community-based organisations to build on existing local resources.
Lead Partner for the Resource Efficient Circular Economy SI, Zero Waste Scotland (ZWS), will provide additional funding to increase the overall investment to £73m. ZWS will be responsible for allocating funding to SMEs across Scotland, working in partnership with the Managing Authority to ensure only eligible activity receives funding.
The strategic aims of the Resource Efficient Circular Economy SI are:
- to preserve and protect the environment and promote resource efficiency;
- supporting industrial transition towards a more resource-efficient economy, promoting green growth, eco-innovation and environmental performance management in the public and private sectors;
- to increase business competitiveness in supported sectors by increasing resource efficiency.
