The Fair Work Convention was established in 2015 as a result of the Working Together Review and has representation from Trade Unions, public sector organisations, businesses and academics. Its aim is to provide the Scottish Government with clear, independent advice in relation to Fair Work practices within Scotland. The Convention will seek to:
Promote a new type of dialogue between employers, employees and trade unions, public bodies and the Scottish Government;
support key Scottish Government objectives such as increasing sustainable growth and reducing inequality;
understand the challenges to adopting Fair Work practices more widely within the business community and supporting those that wish to overcome these challenges.
