Consultation and Engagement
On 31 January 2017 the Scottish Government launched a comprehensive public consultation on unconventional oil and gas, Talking “Fracking”, which closed on 31 May. The Scottish Government is grateful to all those who took part.
The consultation, which invited views on the evidence on the potential impacts of unconventional oil and gas in Scotland and on the future of the industry, received more than 60,000 responses, including a number of campaigns. The consultation responses have been independently analysed and were published on 03 October 2017.
The published consultation responses from individuals can be viewed at: https://consult.scotland.gov.uk/energy-and-climate-change-directorate/fracking-unconventional-oil-and-gas/consultation/published_select_respondent. The published consultation responses from discussion groups can be viewed at: https://consult.scotland.gov.uk/energy-and-climate-change-directorate/427a5cef/.
A report of the independent analysis is publicly available at: http://www.gov.scot/Publications/2017/10/9813.
In 2016, officials held a series of roundtable meetings with stakeholders to give them an opportunity to discuss participation and engagement in the consultation on unconventional oil and gas. The output of these sessions informed the consultation. View the report from the sessions at http://www.gov.scot/Resource/0051/00513550.pdf.
