Annual Report on the Operation of Section 72 of the Climate Change (Scotland) Act 2009

Local Development Plans Greenhouse Gas Emissions Policies

The Scottish Government is required to report annually on the operation of Section 72 of the Climate Change Act 2009 / Section 3F of the Town and Country Planning Act 1997.  The legislation requires, in summary,  that Local Development Plans contain policies requiring new buildings to meet a specified and rising proportion of emissions savings from their use, through the installation and operation of low and zero-carbon generating technologies.
