The Scottish Housing Event on 18 November brought together around 300 people from across the world of housing. The purpose of the day was to harness the collective knowledge, expertise and ideas to help identify actions that can be taken forward into a Joint Delivery Plan for Housing in Scotland.
Working with members of the Housing Policy Advisory Group, an ambitious agenda was drawn up after a series of roundtable discussions on a wide range of housing topics that were held during autumn 2014.
On the day, delegates were asked to contribute to one of eight themed workgroups to identify three or four specific and deliverable actions in the morning and one in the afternoon. They considered those within the capacity and resources already available collectively across the sector. Many delegates contributed to the Ideas Wall and tweeted on #HousingEvent. All of the pre-conference materials, the contextual data, the workgroup briefs and the action points from the discussions on the day are published here.
Delegates brought energy, enthusiasm and commitment, making it a truly collaborative day. The next stage is to pull together the ideas and actions identified into the five-year Joint Delivery Plan for Scotland which we aim to publish in Spring 2015. That will be focused on securing the vision for housing which Ministers have set out: that all people in Scotland live in high quality homes that they can afford and that meet their needs.
Post-Housing Event Update
It’s now almost three months since the Scottish Housing Event took place. A lot has been accomplished in that time, and we’ve seen developments in a number of areas, building on the work done in the autumn.
We wanted to take this opportunity to give you an update on our progress
