Adaptations Working Group

The Scottish Government has issued its formal response to the final report of the Adaptations Working Group, which considered the organisation and funding of adaptations across housing tenures.

It also produced a short paper on enabling older people and disabled people to plan and use their own resources to ensure their homes are suitable long-term. To help people to do this, we are working to develop an equity loan pilot scheme.

Background

The Adaptations Working Group took forward actions on housing adaptations from the Wider Planning for an Ageing Population report. These actions were also included in the national strategy for housing for older people. The group consulted on its work in 2012 and responses informed its report.

As housing adaptations are important to older people and disabled people, the working group included representatives of both groups.
