During 2012-13, Anderson Bell Christie Architects and their team, on behalf of the Planning and Architecture Division of Scottish Government, carried out research on how Designing Streets policy is being implemented across Scotland. This research includes illustrated case studies where a method to analyse good practice in the design of streets for new residential development has been tested against details within policy guidance.
From the research recommendations, a plan of practical action is being drawn up to promote the consistent application of better processes and good practice where street designs proposals can contribute to creating higher quality built places in Scotland.
