Paul Gray, Chief Executive of NHSScotland and Director-General Health and Social Care, presents his Chief Executive’s Annual Report. He outlines the achievements made during 2016/17, and describes the challenging context in which NHSScotland and its partners continues to operate.
In his report, Paul pays tribute to the outstanding commitment of all NHSScotland staff, and to the dedication of colleagues in our partner organisations – including those in the voluntary and third sector.
The report charts progress towards our 2020 Vision for Health and Social Care and presents achievements in the three areas often referred to as the ‘Triple Aim’: improving the quality of the care we provide; improving the health of the population; and securing the value and financial sustainability of health and social care services. Our Quality Ambitions for person-centred, safe and effective care have continued to guide our work in improving quality, transforming care and delivering improved performance.
