ISBN: 9781786527981

This publication is the second of two consecutive surveys, conducted to inform the Scottish Government, about the impact of the current EU neonicotinoid seed treatment restrictions on Scottish winter oilseed rape cultivation.

Executive Summary

This publication presents information from a survey of Scottish Winter Oilseed Rape cultivation. Data were collected from a sample of Scottish farmers collectively growing 18 per cent of the winter oilseed rape crop harvested in 2016.

This report corroborates the findings of the previous survey; that the neonicotinoid restrictions have introduced additional challenges for some Scottish growers but the impact of the restrictions is less severe in Scotland than in other regions of the UK.
