This review summarises the evidence of potential wider impacts arising from Climate Change mitigation measures in the Agriculture, Forestry, Land Use and Waste sectors.

Executive Summary

This evidence review was commissioned to support the Scottish Government’s Climate Change Plan. It summarises evidence, relevant to the Scottish context, of the potential wider impacts of Climate Change mitigation measures in the Agriculture, Forestry, Land Use and Waste sectors.

There are a number of potential co-benefits associated with mitigation measures in these sectors. For example, a range of measures including afforestation and the use of precision farming techniques can result in improved air and water quality. Measures to achieve and maintain an optimal soil pH level, and the use of precision farming techniques, can lead to improved soil quality and crop health.
