This evidence review was commissioned to support the Scottish Government’s Climate Change Plan. It summarises evidence, relevant to the Scottish context, of the potential wider impacts of Climate Change mitigation measures in the Transport sector.
There are a number of potential co-benefits associated with Transport mitigation measures. For example, measures to increase levels of walking and cycling can result in health benefits arising from increased physical activity. Measures to reduce car vehicle kilometres, and to improve vehicle efficiency through increased use of lower emission vehicles, can result in improved air quality and reduced noise and congestion.
