The Housing (Scotland) Act 2014 introduces a framework for the regulation of letting agents in Scotland. This includes the mandatory registration of those undertaking letting agency work in Scotland.
As part of implementing letting agent registration, Scottish Ministers are taking forward regulations that will prescribe additional information that must be included in an application to, and an entry of, the Register of Letting Agents and training requirements that must be met to be admitted to the Register.
The Business and Regulatory Impact Assessment considers the business impact of regulations prescribing:
• additional information that applicants to the register of letting agents will need to provide;
• additional information to be included in an entry on the publically available register of letting agents; and
• the training requirements applicants must have met to be admitted.
