Public Concern at Work (PCaW) the charity that runs the service had their contract extended to continue to provide the service to 31 July 2017. As part of this contract, PCaW provide the Scottish Government with 6 monthly evaluation reports. This document covers the period from 1 August 2015 - 31 January 2016

Executive Summary

NCAL provides an additional level of support to NHSScotland employees should they feel unsure about how or whether to report cases of patient safety or malpractice directly to their Board, or, if they feel that they have exhausted procedures in place. It also provides a safe space where staff, including those who feel that they may be victimised as a result of whistleblowing, can discuss their concerns with legally trained staff and, where appropriate, have these concerns passed to the appropriate Board or Regulator on the their behalf.
