The report provides an analysis of the consultation responses and sets out the Scottish Government response.
The aim of the Consultation was to seek stakeholders views on three key issues:
- Whether or not the proposed site should be designated;
- What potential risks of harassment of seals there are on the proposed site;
- Whether or not there are sufficient grounds for considering designation before the appropriate period of 5 years and, if so, how quickly this should occur?
The Consultation attracted a large number of responses (n= 306) and reflect the views of a range of interested parties, however the majority came from local residents.
The analysis identified three key issues that influenced responses to the consultation and these are discussed in the report. The report also contains the Scottish Government response to these issues.
