Tuesday, April 7, 2015

ISBN: 9781785442568

A summary of findings from a review of the impact of the Health and Care ALLIANCE Scotland, its future role, and the strengths and weaknesses of the current working and funding model with the Scottish Government. It was carried out between July and December 2014.

Executive Summary

Overall the review concluded that the ALLIANCE has had a significant impact on national policy, legislation and delivery – particularly in relation to self management, person-centred approaches, and third sector involvement in health and social care. There was widespread support for the ALLIANCE to broadly continue in its current role and deliver similar types of activities. The review also highlighted that there are opportunities to clarify the ALLIANCE'S unique role and strategic focus. Taken together, the review findings provide a helpful framework for the development of a new joint strategic partnership agreement between the ALLIANCE and the Scottish Government.
