The interim Equality inpact assessment accompanies the Scottish Governments document, Towards Decarbonising Heat: Maximising the Opportunities for Scotland: Draft Heat Generation Policy Statement for Consultation

Executive Summary

The interim EQIa accompanies the Scottish Government’s Draft Heat Generation Policy Statement (HGPS) sets out how low carbon heat can reach more householders, business and communities and a clear framework for investment in the future of heat in Scotland. It discusses how Scotland might reduce the amount of energy used for heat, diversify sources of heat, provide increased security of heat supply, greater local control and reduce the pressure on household energy bills.

The interim EQIA gathered evidence of the likely impacts from the policies set out in the draft HGPS on a variety of equlity groups, however we would welcome evidence or advice on any potential adverse impacts likely to be sufferd by any group outlined in the interim EQIA in order that we make take account of tghiis when shaping future policy.
