New Scots: Integrating Refugees In Scotland's Communities has been developed by the Scottish Government in partnership with COSLA and the Scottish Refugee Council.
The strategy supports delivery of the Scottish Government's policy that refugees and asylum seekers should be welcomed, supported and integrated into our communities from day one. This will enable them to rebuild their lives in Scotland and make a full contribution to society.
The strategy provides a clear framework for all those working towards refugee integration from 2014 - 17. It includes six action plans on the needs of dispersed asylum seekers; employability and welfare; housing; education; health; and communities and social connections. The action plans set out specific outcomes, how they will be achieved and which organisations will be involved.
