Monday, September 17, 2012

ISBN: 9781782560425

The project presents trends in the data using the most complete time series data available for each designated SPA species. The project utilised data from JNCC, SNH, RSPB and other sources. The purpose of the project was to provide a collated source of information for renewable developers, regulators and advisers in support of EIA and HRA considerations at the marine licensing level. It did not act as a specific review of SPAs.

Executive Summary

The project has provided an overview of historical population trends for key seabird species, relevant to offshore developments, at SPAs for which they are designated features; it has demonstrated evidence for any population trends in species for each SPA to form a basis for estimating current population sizes if possible; It provides a resource detailing the allocation of data from colony counts from JNCC to specific SPA colonies.
