Categorisation of Schemes

The schemes were prioritised on the following criteria:

  • Category A -schemes were established as very recent scheme with large amounts of information available and there was normally enough information to be used to complete the database, without further study.
  • Category B - schemes with some information and a reasonable likelihood of protecting properties. More detailed studies were undertaken on the majority of these schemes.
  • Category C - little or no information (usually name and location only). The location was confirmed and any information available entered into the database.
  • Category D - scheme name only. For these schemes the existence of the scheme was confirmed with the local authority and this information entered into the database.
